Dolce & Gabbana Domenico Dolce was born on September 13, 1958 and grew up in a small Sicilian village, studied fashion design and worked for his family's small clothing factory. Stefano Gabbana was born on November 14, 1962 in Venice, Italy, grew up in Milan and studied graphic design.
















The legendary duo of Dolce & Gabbana first met in 1980 while working as assistants in an atelier in Milan. The two went into business together two years later and continued to do free-lance
Dolce & Gabbana designing for others.

They held their first solo women’s wear fashion show in 1986, but it was not until the goddess herself Madonna wore one of their shirts in her movie "Truth or dare: In bed with Madonna" that they become known worldwide. Madonna loves the duo so much that in 1993 she had them exclusively design 1500 costumes for her "Girlie show" world tour.
















Dolce & Gabbana designs draw inspiration from Mediterranean colors, culture and classic southern Italian cinema of the 40's & 50's, their inspirational figures include Italian beauties Sophia Loren and Anna Magnani; all illustrates how their collections are always romantic, voluptuous and sensual. Later on their signature pieces were the sexy corset dresses, gangster pinstripe suits, sexy black suits, empire line jackets and floral embroidered coats continuing to flatter the female body in a glamorous modern feel.
















Dolce & Gabbana Loved by fashion magazines and the number one choice of Hollywood stars & music artists such as Monica Bellucci, Isabella Rossellini, Kylie Minogue, Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, Angelina Jolie and Madonna. Overseeing a true fashion empire, Dolce & Gabbana became one of Italy's most important and successful ready-to-wear fashion houses.
